Although a little hard to get out of the pot (could be because of cold weather) but it does make a big difference to our ponies mouth.
Have used similar products and although this one is a little more expensive is well worth the extra.

Product works really well, helps to keep the mouth soft and aids acceptance of the bit.
Really quick service.

Got this to try with a youngster who wasn't mouthing well. Horse is much happier to take the bit during bridling and has a softer more productive mouth.

Have used this before and find it really keeps the horse's mouth soft and
flexible. Not packaged up very well though the lid was broken

made my horse more steady in his contact, and felt softer in my hand

I have just ordered the Bit Butter fron this site. The service was quick and efficient. The bit butter is an excellent product for maintaining the delicate skin around the horses mouth where the bit and flash noseband sit. I now use it as a general grooming product on a daily basis to maintain healthy skin. I have also used it to protect and lubricate small injury sites which other creams tend to slide off.

Lovely stuff - great for general use to prevent rubbing of flash straps on sensitive noses. I treated myself to the human version this time too - love it!

A really nice softening product, smells great and I use on both the horse and myself.

Excellent product. It protects my daughter's eventer's mouth from being pinched by the bit when the reins are put on the bottom ring for jumping. Lovely smell too and he likes the taste!

We currently have a horse whose mouth cut after wearing a strong bit. The bits been changed, the mouth is healing and we've been recommended Bit Butter rather than using vaseline before tacking up. Only just received goods so can't really comment how good it is but have to admit it smells lovely and we've even tried it ourselves before using it on the horse.

The butter did make a difference in that my horse always seems to nick himself in the corners of his mouth, the butter kept him moisturised and after a schooling session I could still smell it on him and see it. I started using a small amount actually on the bit but have found if i use more I got more acceptance. A good product.

Great stuff, used this introducing my youngster back to ridden work after winter turn-away. She actually stands over me to accept the bridle & bit she likes it that much & has taken a lovely relaxed contact. A must have item.

My 5 year old absolutely loves this and it has really helped her soften in the mouth.

Good product, smells nice and horse seemed happier in her mouth when I used it the other day - early days so may be coincidence but so far so good!

Fantastic stuff! I have a thin skinned horse with a fleshy mouth, this stops any redness, dryness etc on the lip/mouth area!

Smells and feels nice but my horse did not like it! Reasonable price as should last for a long time

The product does exactly what it says on the tub! Stopped my horses bit rubs straight away. He also accepts the bit and really enjoys the taste and smell! Thank you so much Bit Butter you have solved my problems!

My horses love the taste and texture of the butter and it most definately helps with getting the horses on the bit.

My horse has had a sore mouth, Bit Butter has proven to be my best buy so far this year!!

The service from Horse Health was excellent. I have not tried the product yet as the pony it's for is not in work at the moment. It smells nice and I'm hoping that it will do what it says on the tub, so for now I'm giving it a middle of the road ranking, with luck I will be able to improve on that in due course.

Very nice product, the horse loves the flavour and accepts the bit eagerly. Lovely and soft on the mouth as well.

Smells lovely, my horse seems to like it, I smear it along the underside of the bit bar and in the creases of his mouth.

Fantastic product, softens corners of mouth to prevent sores from the bit. Horses seem to love the taste too! Very quick delivery.

A must for every tack room! My horse had come back from hunting with a sore mouth, after I had applied this is was back to normal within 24hrs! Smells good enough to eat, added bonus!

Fab product my horse loves this he tries to eat my fingers everytime I put it on . It smells lovely and works wonders

I've used this before when my gelding got cuts on the corner of his mouth - it was brilliant at keeping everything soft whilst it healed ( we could still work him) and he liked the taste. I'm now using it on the bit for my mare who has decided that a mid-winter cold metal bit is not nice....apparently a cold metal bit with bit butter is acceptable!

No noticeable difference. Won't bother with this again.

great on young horses, or those who are not straight yet and/or yaw at the bit, its the best thing ever, heals nicely but doesnt make the skin over soft.

purchased to make up a bundle of gifts for christmas. Not used yet so cannot really comment but it smells divine!!!! a smidgen on finger tips to see how it felt left fingers feeling silky so hoping it will have same effect with dry flakey bits you get around the mouth/muzzel where the bit rings sit. Have only given 4 stars as its not been used on horse yet.

Your communication during the ordering process was excellent I did think £4.95 for next day delivery was a little steep but as I was not going to be at home this was the only option that allowed me to advise of a place to leave the package.
I have now tried the bit butter on my little gelding several times and in all honesty it does not seem to have made any difference at all to his 'focus' on the bit, it has however been great on my lips in this cold weather !

I have been looking at various different bits to enable me to ride my horse in a more rounded, consistent contact, and bought this at Olympia. So I have rubbed it on the loose ring snaffle I usually use and bingo, she's a lot more happier working in her current bit with the Bit Butter on it than me investing in a £90 bit! I don't seem to be using a lot, and she loves it so much I had to stop her licking it out of the pot like a Likit recently when I accidentally left the lid off!!
